The New York Fellowship is a 6-month grant program for artists and arts/culture professionals from around the world. The program empowers fellows to develop their practices, take risks, and immerse themselves in the cultural life of New York City and the U.S. through first-hand experience and cross-cultural engagement.
Duration: 6 months
Location: New York City, with flexibility for short visits elsewhere in the U.S.

Enabling fellows to enhance their artistic or cultural practice
Encouraging fellows to apply their learnings to benefit their home communities
Key Points:
Not a residency or personal PR tour
Fellows are expected to integrate the cultural exchange into their practice
Orientation and networking in NYC with other fellows and ACC staff is recommended
Grant Amount: $35,000 USD for six months
Financial Management: Fellows are responsible for budgeting for living costs in NYC
Expenses Covered by ACC:
$220 USD for DS-2019 J-1 visa fees
$150–$200 USD for mandatory travel health insurance
~$18,000–19,000 USD for 6-month residence at International House (optional)
Additional Costs: $185 for DS-160 visa application, airfare, and related costs
Advance Payment Option: $3,000 USD before arrival for travel expenses
Net Take-Home Estimate: Approximately $15,580–16,630 USD for 6 months (roughly $2,596–2,772 USD/month if residing at International House)
Must be over 21 years old at the fellowship start date
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in an ACC-eligible field
Cannot be enrolled in university studies during the fellowship
Cannot be U.S. citizens or permanent residents
Previous New York Fellows are not eligible
Applicants involved in previously ACC-funded projects must confirm eligibility with ACC
