The UNU Global AI Network invites young innovators worldwide to participate in the AI for SDGs — Global Youth AI Future Innovation Competition 2025. This international competition empowers youth to develop AI-driven solutions addressing sustainable development challenges.
Ecological Environment and Green Transition Challenges
Competition Tracks:
Climate Change Adaptation – Using AI to predict climate impacts and improve societal and ecosystem resilience
Environmental Protection and Conservation – Using AI for monitoring, resource management, and mitigation strategies
Clean Energy – Using AI to enhance renewable energy efficiency and accelerate low-carbon transitions
AI for Less Developed Countries – Developing affordable, accessible AI technology to support climate adaptation and green transitions
Special Award: Macau Prize for exceptional entries from Macau
Individuals, groups, organizations, and companies globally
No restrictions on nationality or background
Projects must be TRL 6+ (technology ready for on-the-ground validation and near commercialization)
For companies, must be founded within the last 10 years
All submissions must be in English
Participation is free of charge
Cash Prize: $1,000 USD per winning team (before tax)
Opportunity to pilot projects in China (Nov 2025 – Oct 2026)
Access to a growth-support package including financial support, industry & investment matchmaking, and international promotion
Recognition at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai and the award ceremony in Macau
