European Research and Mobility Grants for European Studies
The Fundación Academia Europea e Iberoamericana de Yuste is offering 10 “Carlos V European Award” European Research and Mobility Grants to support doctoral researchers working on European Studies with a thematic focus on the European Union and persons with disabilities.

“United in diversity: The impact of the European Union on the lives of persons with disabilities”
Specific priorities include:
EU policies, funds, and programs addressing disability rights.
EU law and regulation: drafting, implementation, monitoring.
Interinstitutional cooperation among EU institutions and with bodies such as UN, UNESCO, NATO, Council of Europe.
Participation of persons with disabilities and representative organizations in EU policymaking.
Role of local/regional actors & civil society (associations, foundations, NGOs, networks).
Media’s role in promoting equal citizenship and inclusion.
Horizontal priorities include:
European integration & enlargement history, cohesion policies, EU–Ibero-America relations.
Evolution of disability models (medical → social → human rights-based under UN CRPD).
Political & institutional relations enabling CRPD implementation.
Civil society’s contribution to European cohesion & values (democracy, equality, justice, human rights).
Doctoral candidates enrolled in eligible countries (EU, Western Balkans, Eastern Neighborhood, Southern Mediterranean, Asia, Central Asia, Middle East, Pacific, Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, Caribbean, US, Canada).
Thesis must be in history, political science, economics, law, social and human sciences, or related fields aligned with the call.
Must not be a previous recipient of the Carlos V grant.
Language: English or Spanish at B2 CEFR or higher (if not native speaker).
Research mobility for archival/documentary research.
Participation in the Carlos V Doctoral Seminar at the Monastery of San Jerónimo de Yuste (Spain).
Publication of selected research in a collective scholarly volume.
Attendance at the official presentation event of the publication.
