Launched in Fall 2020, this scholarship reduces or in some cases fully waives, international tuition fees. It provides talented students from around the globe access to high-quality education at a significantly lower cost while promoting diversity in UdeM’s academic community.
The UdeM Exemption Scholarship is available for the following programs:
Bachelor’s (Undergraduate) Programs
Master’s (Graduate) Programs
PhD (Doctoral) Programs
The scholarship provides partial or complete exemptions from international tuition fees, depending on academic merit and program type.

All academic subjects offered at the Université de Montréal are available under this scholarship program.

Scholarship is directly deducted from tuition fees.
Research-Based Programs

Writing and correction sessions are charged at Quebec student rates.
Doctoral Students
$509.08 CAD per credit

PhD students pay the same tuition fees as Quebec residents.
Open to applicants of all nationalities.
To qualify for the UdeM Exemption Scholarship, applicants must:
Be an international student (excluding French and French-speaking Belgian nationals).
Hold a valid offer of admission to a degree program (not for certificate, minor, or short-term programs).
Possess valid study authorizations (CAQ and study permit) for the duration of your program.
Be enrolled full-time throughout your program at UdeM.
Not be receiving any other tuition exemption.
Failure to meet any of these conditions may result in cancellation of the scholarship.
